Fingerprint capture software software#
It is important to note that under this program, NIST will not conduct certification testing NIST will not evaluate commercial products and NIST will not endorse any product, software or service used by NIST for this program.įurther inquiries and questions may be submitted to fastcap. There is no deadline to participate in the Program, and NIST will collaborate with participants to the extent of available funding and resources. Working with a broad representation of technologies will help advance market adoption of new contactless fingerprint capture devices. This collaboration facilitates a non-proprietary technical exchange between parties in order to promote the development of effective testing methods and tools. NIST will present controlled artifacts under development to the device and will measure/analyze properties of the captured images. The Device must be able to reliably sense fingerprints in a contactless manner and output the resulting images in a preferably standard (or else open) file format. Under this Program, a participant is requested to provide on loan to NIST its contactless fingerprint capture device, control software, and non-proprietary documentation.
To request participation, please contact fastcap (subject: Contactless%20Fingerprint%20Capture%20Device%20Measurement%20Research, body: ). A copy of the CRADA (including terms and conditions) is available here. Each Participant will be asked to sign a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) specific to this Program. The objective of this program is to produce open testing methods, metrics, and artifacts that will support future certification of these types of devices for inclusion on Government Certified Products Lists. As this research requires direct interaction with emerging technologies, NIST is extending an open invitation to technology developers to participate. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has announced the Contactless Fingerprint Capture Device Measurement Research Program, which builds upon NIST's research in developing methodologies for measuring the image fidelity of contactless fingerprint capture devices.
